I wrote a book about a man, Thomas Hardee, who lived his life, maybe the way we live our own lives.
Thomas had two things in his life that he valued the most; his job and his wife, Debbie. After losing his job, due to the poor economy, he was left with his wife. He loved his wife very much. He was thankful for the opportunity to spend time home with her while he was out of work.
One day, Debbie left home for a check up at the doctor office. On the way she was in a very bad car accident and she was killed with four other people.
Thomas' life was turned upside down. He reacted as a lot of us might and the first one he blamed was God. He couldn't understand why God felt it necessary for Debbie to be taken from him. What did he do to make God so angry? What did Debbie do?
His anger and hatred was noticed by his family and friends. Thomas began isolating himself more and more to keep free from any human relations wth anyone.
Eventually, Thomas ended up out in the wilderness free from any interaction with anyone...until one day.
It was through the steady communication with Jesus Christ (his prayers) and his daily studying of the WORD (reading the Bible) that Thomas was able to look past his boring, repetative daily life and look forward to what God wanted from and for Him.
